Frequently Asked Questions

1. Q: Why would I take a guided tour when I could just get a motorcycle rental and a map?
A: There are three advantages that stand out in particular. The first is that by doing the trip on your own you will most certainly miss some of the best roads or interesting side trips that you can only find after years of trial and error. You'll enjoy experiences that other visitors to the region often miss. The second is that, by carefully selecting and arranging exceptional lodging and dinning locations throughout the tour, we free up more of your valuable vacation time for riding and having fun. Last, but certainly not least, our tours give you the chance to enjoy the company of riders from many parts of the world.

2. Q: Do I have to ride with the group?
A: A great deal of flexibility is built into the tours allowing you to travel on your own and at your own pace while still taking advantage of our knowledge of the roads and arrangements for meals and lodging. Often riders of similar style ride together in small groups; some ride alone and do their own thing, and some stay with the guide. The tour guide can advise you on other routes and you can meet the tour party at the accommodation or other arranged place.

3. Q: What will I need to pay for while on tour?
A: Lunch is not included in the tour price because riders may end up in several different places at lunch time, depending on whether they decide to ride with the group or explore on their own. We provide a list of options, maps and selections of our favourite restaurants on the way. Otherwise, breakfast is provided every day and dinner on 3 or 4 days. Other than that, gas, incidentals, and spending money should be the only other general cost.

4. Q: How much cash do I need to take?
A: Although it is common, and also very convenient, to purchase fuel and lunch meals with plastic, it is wise to take some cash for coffees, souvenirs and individual activities.

5: Q: How much riding experience must I have?
A: Generally, anyone who has ridden for at least one year on a motorcycle of 600 cc or over is up to the challenge. The tours travel paved roads that are generally in very good condition. The guide rides at a leisurely pace and stops often. The tour guide is always on hand to give the right level of care and advice.

6: Q: My partner is not as enthusiastic as I am about riding - any solutions?
A: The support vehicle follows the group. We can arrange for a passenger during any part or all of the tour. It stops at all the scenic overlooks and meal stops so a passenger may choose to ride anytime. This option is as enjoyable as touring by car and allows both the rider and his or her partner to enjoy the tour and absorb the scenery in comfort.

7: Q: How much luggage may I take with?
A: As much as you need. The luggage is always transported in the accompanying vehicle and brought to our accommodation.

8: Q: Do the bikes have luggage systems?
A: Yes, all bikes have hard lockable side cases available. Magnetic or strap type tank bags are also available. All bags and cases are free.

9: Q: What clothes should I bring?
A: The dress is casual and our van will transport your luggage. Bring your helmet, riding gear, rain gear (just in case), bathing suit, t-shirts, jeans, and sweater or sweatshirt. Our handbook, which you'll receive at least 2 weeks prior to departure is complete with route maps and travelling information, and it will give you clothing recommendations.

10: Q: Are custom tours available?
A: We can create and lead custom tours by your specifications and desires for a group of four or more riders. There is no minimum number of riders for Unguided custom tour. Tour will always be implemented for single rider. Contact us for further details.

11: Q: What is the weather like in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro?
A: The temperatures from the end of April till the end of September vary between 20 and 35 degrees Celsius and this is the ideal time for touring. All tours are scheduled for this period of time and tour routes include mountain passes very delightful to be ridden during the spring, summer and autumn. Adriatic coast is generally very nice for riding until the end of October.
